I am getting the following error while trying to update windows 7 Home Premium.
Clear option Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Type services in Cortana and click Services on the pop-up menu.
The result was that it was still pointing to Microsoft's internal servers, found a new Build meant only for Microsoft, and attempted to deliver it to everyone.
SO I am Curious I did the regedit thing like you Said and wondering if it will effect any more windows 10 tech preview I got the same thing on you should not change the regedit. Hi Rod, my son during the update on a Packard Bell desktop with Windows 10 TP9926, had the error 0x80246017 reported to only the updating of the version 10041. Then due to the suggestion found on the Microsoft site, he doesn't remember where, has downloaded and installed the update KB3038930, modified the registry keys ....
From what I understand, to deliver 9926 in the way they did, Microsoft changed those registry values to pull from a different location.
